UPSC daily current affairs quiz from the morning newspapers

Prelims speed in the window. Mains language in the explanation. A CSE sitting that behaves like a paper.

UPSC rewards the person who can turn a column into a constitutional or economic structure. The daily file is built that way: options that look “current” and a key that is actually a principle.

YOUPSC is not the Union Public Service Commission. Verify dates on upsc.gov.in.

Worked item · Union · Act / scheme / court

Editorial sample of the method Same discipline as the live file.

Stem. The Supreme Court issues notice on a writ seeking a CBI probe into a State PSC preliminary examination. The useful CSE habit is to:

  1. treat “notice issued” as a conviction of the Commission
  2. name Article 32, remember that notice is not a finding, and ask what legal route actually moves an investigation from a State CID to the CBI
  3. memorise the petitioner’s hometown

Hint: Instrument first; adjective never.

Explanation: Article 32 is the SC writ. Police is State. CBI entry needs a statute and often consent or a court direction — the DSPE framework, not a slogan. A live edition may sit on Monday’s reporting; this box teaches the map you reuse all year.

Further study: Articles 32 and 226; Union List versus State police; why a Public Service Commission is a constitutional authority, not a private tutor.

Live items tagged Union or economy are written for this landing. Evening sitting: 20:00–22:00 IST, same URL.

UPSC quiz — short answers

Is there a UPSC daily current affairs quiz?

Yes. YOUPSC files a newspaper-based sitting for CSE prelims speed and mains structure. Union and economy stems are tagged. Official UPSC text remains at upsc.gov.in.

Is this an official UPSC mock or CSAT paper?

No. It is editorial practice reconstructed from morning newspapers. It is not a leaked key, not CSAT, and not a commission notification.

How is this different from a coaching current-affairs PDF?

One dated HTML file, a closed window, and an explanation that names the actor and the instrument. Share the URL after you sit; do not forward an answer key.
